Fettigrew Hall is a fictional estate. Its appearance is based on three English houses/castles that I love. Scotney Castle has the romance, Stokesay Castle has the mystery and Little Moreton Hall has the design.
The real story begins with the building of the original castle by Gilbert DeBois for his family in the late 12th century. Although he was building a defensive structure, he still wanted comfort for his family. He built a solar with a jettied window for his invalid wife, so that she could sit in the sunlight and do her needlework.
During the Tudor period or 16th century a new house is built on the grounds which comes to be called Fettigrew Hall. The book entitled Fettigrew Hall is the contemporary story of what remains in the estate and what is found there. Within this book is a document written by a former resident who did research on the house. Her document tells the background of many people who lived there and things that occurred while there. My future books will address those mysteries.

The cover was developed from one of my favorite houses, Little Moreton
Hall or Moreton Old Hall.
The painting was done in 1886 by George Theaker. Ryan Flint
flipped the picture using Adobe Photoshop, colored it in sepia and added bushes
to hide the bridge in the painting. The cover picture now looks more like what
I described in the book. Thanks also go to Michael Glueckert, who advised and
finished the cover design.
